  • YES! You will definitely need a rental car, everything is very spread out, you will not be able to access anything without one. 

  • Brays Island is a gated, private 5,500-acre residential community situated between Charleston, Savannah, and Beaufort. The plantation has 325 private homesites. Please see more information here

  • NO, there are no ubers in the area as it is very remote. We will have transportation for the wedding day. We do have a list of chauffeur services if you require. Check back later for more info

Event Details

  • YES! we will have pickups and drop-offs for the wedding day. (More information to come on this closer to the date) 

  • Your invitation will indicate if you have a plus-one. 

  • We adore children, but we are keeping the weekend to an adult-only celebration. 

  • We would like to ask that everyone put their phones away during the ceremony. Phones and flash will interfere with the moment and the photo concepts Carly and Ben are dreaming of.  Feel free to take videos and photos during cocktail hour and the reception. 

  • Yes, everything will be outdoors and mostly on grass!

  • Irish exits are encouraged

  • We ask that everyone come in formal attire, suits for men and long dresses for women. To note, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be on grass**

    Historically, in October, you can expect temperatures to be a high of 89F/28C and a low of 69F/15C. 

Brays Island Information

  • You will receive an activity letter after you receive your formal invitation from Marcie-Anne, Brays Island's event coordinator. Your guest account will also be set up at this time. 

  • Guests staying on Brays or utilizing the amenities will require a Guest Account. Brays is a cashless community and requires guests to provide their credit card information if they decide to utilize any of the amenities on the property. 


    If you are staying on Brays, you will receive an account form from Marcie-Anne, the Brays Island Event Coordinator. Please fill this out and send it back to her as its more work for us to chase you. If you don’t make any charges during your stay, Brays will simply delete your information and there will not be any charges. 

  • The Golf Grill is open for lunch and dinner during the week. Attire is smart casual. (no ripped jeans). It also offers Brunch on Sundays. Reservations are required for dinner

    The Inn offers Breakfast Monday-Saturday from 7:30 am-9:30 am and dinner only on Sundays; jackets and reservations are required.

    If you are staying in a house on the property, the closest major grocery stores are Wegmans and Publix in Beaufort.
